Meet Amari – A South Shore Family in Need 💙
This month, we're honored to support Amari, a local 4-year-old with an incredible story of strength and resilience.
Born at just 27 weeks, Amari spent his first 89 days in the NICU. He has since been diagnosed with level 3 autism, and is nonverbal with significant sensory and safety challenges. Amari has no awareness of danger and is prone to wandering (elopement), making everyday activities like going to the park, attending school, or visiting local events extremely difficult.
Despite these challenges, Amari is full of energy, curiosity, and love.
Helping Fund a Service Dog for Autism
Proceeds from this month's Cannoli for a Cause will go toward providing Amari with a professionally trained autism service dog.
This service dog will:
Help keep Amari safe in public and outdoor environments
Provide sensory and emotional regulation support
Allow him to safely participate in everyday activities
Give his family greater peace of mind
